Love is not Magic

Carla looked at her new husband, David, amazed at the intensity of her love for him. He was coming through the door, breakfast tray balanced on one hand. He bowed to her, and presented her with her favorite meal: french toast smothered in honey, eggs cooked over-easy to perfection, and coffee that tasted like ambrosia. She sat up in bed, smiled her appreciation, and he smiled lovingly back at her. “What a demonstration of love,” she thought. “Love isn’t magic! It is evidence of God’s unfailing love for us broken humans that He would grant us such wondrous beauty.”
