Salvation Prayer

John 3:16 reminds us that God loved the world, meaning the humans he created, so much that he gave his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, so that everyone who believes in Jesus should not perish, but have eternal life. Jesus died on the Cross so that you and I might have eternal life, meaning that death in this world is not the end for us.  At some point in everyone’s  life, a decision must be made to believe in Jesus and accept Him as Lord of our lives.

In Revelation 3:19-20, in the Amplified Bible, Jesus states, “Those whom I [dearly and tenderly] love, I rebuke and discipline [showing them their faults and instructing them]; so be enthusiastic and repent [change your inner self—your old way of thinking, your sinful behavior—seek God’s will]. Behold, I stand at the door [of the church] and continually knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him (restore him), and he with Me.”  So, today, if you are ready to give control of your life to God, to believe that Jesus died and was resurrected on the third day morning, to confess with your mouth that you are a sinner willing to repent of your sins, then pray the prayer below. The prayer is only a suggestion, because you are free to use any words you like in your prayer of salvation . Please send an email to to let us celebrate with you, if you so choose. It is not required. God will know.

Dear God in heaven, I come to the throne of your presence today confessing that I am a sinner in need of your salvation. I acknowledge that I have sinned, and I repent for my sins and for how I have lived my life. I ask for your forgiveness and turn my life over to the control and authority of Jesus Christ. I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross at Calvary so that I might have a chance for eternal life,  and I believe as truth that You raised Him from the dead.  I am thankful for His courage, commitment, and care.  Romans 10:9-10 states that if I openly declare that Jesus is Lord  and believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead, I will be saved. It is believing in my heart that I am made right with God, and it is by openly declaring my faith that I am saved.

Right now, I accept Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord of my life.  Come into my heart, Lord Jesus. I am ready to become a new person, to transform my way of thinking in the world, and to change my habits and deeds to reflect that I am a believer of Christ Jesus. Let the Holy Spirit come to teach me all things I need to remember and to comfort me in times of sorrow or doubt. Thank you, Lord God, for the gift of a Savior, Jesus Christ, and for the chance for eternal life. In Jesus’ Name I pray this prayer of salvation, believing that you hear and answer prayer. I am yours today. Amen.
