I need a teaspoon of patience to survive the holidays.
Visitors to entertain, food to cook, and gifts to wrap,
Upheaval when Christmas gifts don’t satisfy.
And no one is talking because they’re on different apps.
Maybe we could start new holiday traditions.
No smartphones allowed, giving others our attention.
Marriages will be saved and friendships renewed,
With holidays that are minus so much tension.
