Flower of the Day Challenge, December 27, 2018

When I saw these flowers up high over my head, I simply loved the beauty of them. All of the colors reminded me that, in nature, flowers of different colors work together to create beauty and a sense of peaceful coexistence. Oh, that humans would learn that we can do the same.

The Ending: 50 Word Thursday by Regina

Jeff was disheveled after another night of drinking. Marlene looked at him in silent sorrow. She had tried to help him fight his demons, but her love was not enough. He looked up just as she walked out the door. Nursing a chronic hangover, Jeff winced as the door slammed. Written for the last 50... Continue Reading →

Flower of the Day Challenge, December 26, 2018

These flowers caught my eye because they reminded me of the brushes for washing baby bottle. Usually, I see these in red, so the yellow fascinated me. They were just beautiful against the backdrop of the blue sky in a small village on the Costa Blanca in Spain. Thank God for yellow! Simply Beautiful and... Continue Reading →

A Very Strange Christmas

Not buying gifts for each other turned out to be weird. Waking up on Christmas day with no packages to open, no surprises, and no oohing and aahing over gifts made yesterday seem like somehow we had ended up on the moon. On Monday, I suggested going out and spending no more than $10 on... Continue Reading →

Flower of the Day Challenge, December 21, 2018

For Cee's Photography Flower of the Day Challenge, I snapped this photo in Quarteria, Spain near the apartment we were renting. I was loving the riot of colors. They are so proud of themselves! I hate to see night come, as their parents, some impatient for adult company,... Continue Reading →

Indeed, is my mind closed in some areas, but open in other areas? As we walked along the pavement,... Continue Reading →

Will Justice Ever Reign?: 50 Word Thursday #32

Standing on the pavement, staring at the hugeness of the Justice Center, I marvel at how people continue to live their lives, walking or riding sedately on a bus, as injustice prevails inside on a national scale. Justice means equality by law, regardless of race, immigrant status, or social class. Written for the 50 Word... Continue Reading →

Flower of the Day, December 20, 2018

Looking at flowers in a store is just like being in a candy store: As much as you would like one of everything you see, you know that you can only afford a couple of the beauties. So, you linger just to enjoy the view and dream. Posted for Cee's Photography Flower of the Day... Continue Reading →

Thursday’s Doors: Norm 2.0

This beautiful door was seen in a town on the Costa Blanca in Spain. The two colors caught my eye, as most doors are only one color. I wish I had taken a better picture, to capture the top of the door, but I was too caught up in his uniqueness. It was a piece... Continue Reading →
