Share Your World

  1. What’s the first thing you notice about a person?

The gender, especially as people are walking towards me when I am walking alone at night. I try to ascertain if they are male or female, to determine if I should prepare to defend myself.

2. What three habits do you feel would improve someone’s life??

Exercising at least five times a week, offering thanks to God each time you arrive at a destination by walking, car, train, plane, or bus, and eating in moderation.

3. What takes up too much of your time? Would you stop if you could?

Reading murder mysteries on my Kindle. If the book gets good, I will stay up all night to finish it, needing to know that the perpetrator got caught and that good triumphed over evil. I am really trying to read fewer mysteries and more Bible resources for preaching.

4. Cookies (biscuits to those elsewhere), parties, pie, or cake? If not, what does your sweet tooth crave?

My sweet tooth wants things that are super-sweet, so pies with sugar sprinkled on the crust as well as generously stirred into the filling, double-stuffed Oreos, cake with lots of frosting, and Krispy Kreme donuts. If I don’t feel sugar overload afterwards, I am not satisfied. I feel like I have used up a lot of calories and got nothing in return.

5. Gratitude? Are you happy? If so, why? If not, why not?

I am grateful to be alive. I see each day as a bonus, considering the times I came so close to dying. Having survived colon cancer for ten years, I find joy in each day I have with Douglas, the best husband in the world, truly nobody does Spouse better. I find reasons to be happy each day, so that the depression I am prone to experience stays at bay. If I have a dark day. I put on gospel music with a beat and I dance until I see light again.
