I can list 38 “things” that make me happy. One (1) extraordinary man who has added joy and adventure to my life for nearly 20 years. Thank God for Internet dating! Between us, we have eight (8) children who keep us feeling needed and valued. We have eighteen (18) grandchildren, three for him and fifteen for me, ranging in age from nine to forty, so there are many cool moments when we can see them and enjoy interests with them. I have eleven (11) great-grandchildren, and the twelfth is due this year. That’s thirty-eight causes of happiness.
Of course, with so many people come joys and sorrows, laughter and tears, and agreements and disagreements, making life a never-ending mixture of good and not-so-good. But, overall, love flows between us and among us. When together and sharing memories, there isn’t a more raucous crowd. It is those special moments with hugs and kisses that make me happy. I treasure them, and I crave more of them in my seventh decade of life.
