I thought that love had passed me by,
My present was as empty as my past.
Suddenly, a rewellagans was thrust at me,
And a second chance of love occurred, at last.
I thought he offered only friendship,
But then he took me in his loving arms.
A tremor of joy touched my heart and soul,
And I had no language to describe his charms.
Now, we have been married for quite some time.
His laughter and goodness are still so pleasant.
And I’m thankful for second chances for love,
And that the past doesn’t dictate the present.
Written for The Saturday Mix, No Nonsense from Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie. The prompt is “rewellagans.” We were to define this made-up word and then write prose or a poem using it. I defined rewellagans as unexpected second chances. Ragtag Daily Prompt is Tremor. The Word of the Day Challenge prompt is Language. The Daily Spur prompt is Friendship. The Three Things Challenge #441 from Pensitivity 101 prompts are present, offer, thrust.

This is quite lovely.
