Some people say the number 13 is unlucky, but to me, it’s not unlucky at all. It was the magic number for me all of my life. I was born on November 13, a grand day for my parents. I received a proposal letter from my beau on February 13. We were married on June 13, and thirty-seven years later, we still enjoy each other’s company. Our first child was born on October 13, and he makes us proud daily. We have thirteen beautiful grandchildren, and we’ve lived in thirteen different cities. What a lucky number for me!

Thirteen is my lucky number,

Despite how others it besmirch.

It’s brought me nothing but joy,

And it has given me so much mirth.
