Every Day is a Bonus to Be Cherished

Daily writing prompt
What’s your #1 priority tomorrow?

In 2021, I turned 70 years old. I had achieved the biblical “three score and ten.” I am a walking miracle who never thought she would reach age 40, and I was celebrating a milestone. So, every day is a bonus to me. I hope to accomplish the rest of the scripture, “or eighty if our strength endures.”

I try to live every day for itself because when I concentrate on tomorrow, something that needs to be done today gets forgotten. I hope for tomorrow, and yes, I plan so that tomorrow is a good day, but I don’t just focus on it. For example, next Tuesday, October 10, I will return to the classroom, and I have completed my syllabus and uploaded all my class notes.

I don’t know if I will live to see it, but I am ready. So, I guess my priority is to eat healthy, exercise each day, read the scriptures that touch my soul, and connect with the people I love, so tomorrow is as good as it gets. It is after all a bonus.
