Nehemiah 6:15-16 The wall was completed in 52 days, on the twenty-fifth day of the month Elul. When all our enemies heard this, all the surrounding nations were intimidated and lost their confidence, for they realized that this task had been accomplished by our God.
Whatever the work that God calls us to do, we don’t have to worry, for He will be with us, helping us to succeed in His will. Nehemiah rallied the former exiles of Judah to rebuild the broken and destroyed walls of Jerusalem that left the people vulnerable to attack by their enemies. There had been so much opposition to rebuilding the walls and the temple, for their enemies understood that success would demonstrate that God was among them.
Nehemiah convinced his people to work with tools in one hand and arms in the other. In 52 days, the wall of Jerusalem was completed, victory was won against their enemies, and the Judahites and their enemies learned that God is a helper for His people who are called by His name, standing with us against every obstacle put in our way.
So, walk in the knowledge that if God calls you to a job, He will equip you to do the job well and in ways that reveal to others that God helps His people to be successful. The work of the Lord is so needed today because there are walls of injustice and inhumanity that need repairing around the world. We are called to repair the walls that divide people, with the Lord our God as our helper.
