It Will Be 88 Degrees in Georgia Today! Has the World Went Completely Crazy?

Daily writing prompt
Jot down the first thing that comes to your mind.

My husband brought my summer clothes up from the basement last night. I keep thinking that temperatures in the 80s would go away in April, and we would get regular weather, meaning we would keep the winter things close. But today, we are expecting 88 degrees, so I have to exercise early, as it will be too hot to walk later in the day. In April, no less!

I know that the climate is changing, but it still seems unreal when the temperatures are so high so early. We find ourselves not knowing from week to week what to wear: shorts or long pants. short sleeves or long sleeves. I hope that if summer arrives months early, my allergies will improve and my face will start to feel normal again.

It’s scary, but if this is our new normal, we will learn to live in it. That is how life works. But I look forward to some more days in the 70s, with a cool breeze. I want to take long walks in the afternoons, not the mornings, when I should be writing on my blog.

Time to swap out summer clothes, which is an all-day event as I fold and put away the winter clothes. However, I will keep a couple of long-sleeved shirts and long pants out because we could have snow next week. You don’t know today, and I miss the certainty of the past. But we move with the times. I do miss the changing of the seasons, where each season was distinct. Now, they come all at once, and my poor nose is having fits.

Happy Easter, everyone.
