It’s Always Something When Traveling!

Today, our last full day in Vienna, we visited the Schoenbrunn Palace and gardens. Because we were early, Douglas and I toured the gardens before meeting the tour group. We went to the Palm House, and I didn’t notice a step down, I fell and chipped a tooth, bit the inside of my lip, and skinned my hands which saved my face from damage. A very kind young man helped lift me from the ground, but Douglas held my hand because I was shaking too bad to walk with any balance. I feel fortunate that I didn’t break any bones.

My back, which is fragile after three surgeries, hurt so bad but I went on the two-hour tour, mainly because I didn’t want Douglas to miss out. I went to the nearest bathroom and rinsed the blood from my mouth because people were staring at me. I didn’t realize that I had cut my lip. But I still enjoyed the tour, sitting when I could. The Palace is huge, with 1441 rooms, but we only toured about 20 of them. It was all gilded, and I found it amazing that it belonged to one family. The gardens will be spectacular to see later in the spring or summer. But here are some pictures of the palace and the gardens. I am not good at placing picture in the block style.
