In the darkness of pain that won’t relent,
I reach for my Savior’s hand of mercy and grace.
I seek to feel His loving presence surround me,
Bringing light and hope into this despairing space.
I spill words of need and struggle to Him,
Reaching my hand toward my heavenly home.
For I know my Redeemer lives and listens to me,
And that He will not leave me in my suffering alone.
I reach upward in humble adoration and affection.
With the assurance of the expectations of my heart.
My King does not stand on neutral ground,
For He comes to His own, His love to impart.
So, I reach up to the One who sees me,
Believing that He will answer in His own way.
I can rest in peace in that sweet assurance,
Though I don’t know the hour or the day.
