I love the art of Renoir, Manet, Monet, and others from the Impressionist period. I will travel for hours on a plane to see their art in the world’s great museums. In Amsterdam, I spent hours in the Rijksmuseum admiring the work of Dutch artists. However, it was during a tour of Budapest, Hungary, earlier this year that I came to appreciate a new type of art: street art. I generally pass right by these treasures when I travel and even in my own town. I loved the whimsical nature of the art and the vibrant colors. Moreover, I was in awe of artists who can paint on such large canvases as the sides of buildings or doors. I loved walking through the streets of Budapest and being surprised by the fantastic art. I have started looking at more street art around me, appreciative of the boldness of these artists. To some it is just graffiti, but for me, it has the same artistic value as a Renoir or Van Gogh.
In the first picture is our guide, who was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the art. He brought the art to life for me. This tour was one of the best aspects of our trip to Budapest. Afterward, we sat around with people from the United States, Norway, England, and other places, enjoying coffee and drinks as we discussed our favorite art pieces. He also took us to a restaurant that was covered in vibrant colors and incredible graffiti. Even the bathrooms were colorful .

So, I like art. I love colors. And I thank the Lord God that He made the world in colors and gifted some people with the ability to use colors to fascinate and entertain us, allowing us a moment to forget the craziness of the world and just have our souls fed.
