He craves shade everywhere we go.
He whimpers in the sunlight and heat.
I shrug and relish the sun on my face,
While he remains on the other side of the street.
By the grace of God, he finds the coolness,
And works to retain as much as he can.
And as the day passes to its final close,
The lack of sunlight makes him a happy man.
