Do you prefer eating food with or without nuts?
I miss having nuts in my food, but I suffered really bad headaches for at least the last 30 years, and I went to every form of doctor, but no one could stop the headaches. Finally, before leaving for Portugal last year, Douglas found a Migraine Diet from Johns Hopkins University, and it required me to stop eating everything that I ate on a daily basis, and I did. Then, we went to Portugal and I ate like the locals, and, guess what, no headaches!
We came back home, and after about thirty days, I decided to have my beloved peanut butter sandwich, which I ate every day for breakfast or lunch for years. Bam! Headaches returned. I started screaming towards the sky, “Let it be the bread! But, alas, we tried other nuts and the same results, except almonds. So, no more nuts at all, not even almonds, in case I was wrong.
Do you sleep with your closet doors open or closed?
Thinking on this question, I was surprised to find all the closet doors open in the house. I had no idea! I know I used to fear that there was a bad man hiding in the closet when I was a child, so that just might explain it.
Are you usually late, early, or right on time?
Douglas and I are opposites on this question. I cannot stand to go anywhere late. I will stay home before I walk into a venue late, even church. Douglas has no problem being late, but over the years, he has acclimated to my way of thinking, meaning he doesn’t want to hear me fussing, and we are always the first people at the party. Once, we got to the party and the hostess was not even dressed yet. She was not happy, I can tell you, as she expected everyone to be late. Go figure!
Ironically, none of my children ever arrive on time, so I have learned to tell a little white lie. If I want them at my house by 5:00PM or 5:30PM, I tell them the party is at 3:30 or 4:00, and eventually they all manage to show up between 5:00 and 5:30. But, none of them want to be the first at my parties, and I don’t know why not (I put them to work)! (Smile)
What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?
I am having a cataract removed on Thursday (no posts, probably), and I had to go have my eyes measured for the new lens. When the lady doing the measurements called my name, I bounded up, and as I passed her to go into her office, she said, “Boy, I have been waiting to meet you!”
I had never met her before, so that was a weird statement. But, it seems the nurses talk about patients, and she had heard that I was “funny” and told great stories. And, of course, I had her smiling and laughing the whole time I was there. It was a great visit to the doctor! I believe that you should leave everyone wanting to see more of you rather than wanting to see a lot less of you!
