The red door at the bed and breakfast where Douglas and I stayed was so inviting. Somehow, the color made it even more so, maybe because red is the color used to portray the heart. We spent our days roaming through the historical areas of beautiful Savannah, Georgia in August.
Tired and wanting nothing more than a cool drink, to approach that door late in the evenings meant that we were “home” again, safe and sound. Each of the cottages were different colors, and the colors were used instead of numbers to differentiate people. When we went for breakfast in the main house, they would say, “Here comes the red door. Coffee with cream but no sugar.” It was wonderful to be “known.”
Red is an interesting color, full of energy and life. To see the red door at the end of the day reminded me that every day should be lived to its fullest.

I love the idea of different coloured doors representing the guests, so much more fun than a number. Thank you for linking to us Regina with your RED door! 🙂
