The earth is a like teenager in a hoodie,
Seen, but not respected for its wisdom.
The older ones continue their destruction,
Oblivious to the damage that’s being done.
The teen-aged earth tries to get their attention,
To make them aware that there must be change.
If the earth is to survive for more generations,
Then the older ones must recognize its pain.
But, adults are so busy denying there’s trouble,
But their teenagers know that a reckoning is due.
Yes, the earth comprehends that the end is near,
And that saving this planet is up to me and you.

This reminds me of the 16 yr old girl who gave a speech on the declining environment last week in the UK.
