She was the subject of many fables.
They named her Anne of Gruesome Gables.
She didn’t suffer fools and other bores,
So, they said she was nasty to her core.
But, I submit that she was misunderstood
By those too lazy to do what she would.
She worked hard and did her work right,
Making others look bad in the boss’s sight.
And when she refused to do mediocre work,
Her coworkers found joy in spreading dirt.
But, I would advise you to do your best,
Taking no notice of the silliness of the rest.
Think of their friendships as no real loss,
Laughing loudest when you become the boss.
