I have decided to participate in the OctPoWriMo 2019 challenge: 31 poems in 31 days. I am not really a poet, but I like to be challenged. It also allows me to have a reason to write every day. Day One prompt is Dark Night of the Soul.
My soul suffered that dark night,
My grief ran so very deep.
The child I bore into the world,
Had entered his eternal sleep.
Remembering his smiling face,
The only thoughts on my mind.
I wrestled with the why of it,
No satisfying answers could I find.
But, when gratitude took control,
And I expressed thanks for the right
To be his mother and his guide,
In poured soul-sustaining light.
So touching coming from the heart and soul. Well done. Thanks for sharing. Have a wonderful day!
