A Cure for the Blues

The music began to play,

Today, Santana was my choice.

Oh, that wondrous Latin beat

Caused me to abandon my poise.

I threw my head back and laughed,

My feet moved of their own accord.

And as I shook my money maker,

My joy in just being alive soared.

Music connects us the universe,

Reminding us to get up and be free.

And when the darkness descends,

A cure for the blues music can be.

Written for the OctPoWriMo challenge. 31 poems in 31 days. Day Six prompt is Blue.
