Discovering Truth!

We were barreling down a mountainside in a storm,

When I made a discovery that would change my life.

With no windshield wipers to help us see our way,

I learned that prayer works in the times of strife.

I was the only one who supposedly believed in God,

And my friends screamed and one started to cry.

I didn’t even know if prayes were heard by God,

But, we were near dying, so I had to at least try.

I closed my eyes and I spoke words from my heart,

“O Lord, only you can make the windshield wipers work”.

Suddenly, those old wipers started moving, just in time,

Euphoric, my doubtful friends and I nearly went berserk.

We made it down off the mountain, with our lives intact.

Amazingly, those windshield wipers never worked again.

But, I discovered that night that God’s promises are real,

“Lo, I am with you always” is true. Amen and Amen!

When those wipers started to work, we were on the edge of the mountain, about to plunge to our deaths. I have always wondered if my two friends became believers in God after that night, but I didn’t see them again after college. Word of the Day Challenge is Euphoric.
