A Slice of Heaven on Earth: Three Things Challenge #466

During the week, he is Frank, whom we think of as just the milkman. He delivers dairy products to the stores in his familiar truck. The children and I wave at him as he passes each morning on his rounds, never thinking about who he really is and what he does at other times.

Then, one Saturday night, as the moon shone brightly through the trees, the chorus of the Winter Festival started to chant the opening selection, and everyone settled quietly in their seats. To our surprise, Frank stepped out from among them, opened his mouth, and the beauty of a pure tenor came from his lips as he sang a medley of gospel songs.

For about thirty minutes, we witnessed a slice of heaven on earth. Joy filled the pews and slipped through the doors, radiating through open windows in the community. Never again was Frank just the milkman!

A fictional story was written for The Three Things Challenge#M466 from Pensitivity 101: chant, medley, chorus. Fandango One Word Challenge is Pure. Ragtag Daily Prompt is Moon. The Word of the Day Challenge is Milkman. The Daily Spur prompt is Winter.
