When The World Seems Torn Apart, It’s Time to Change Our Ways!

Every day the news worsens, and it seems as if the world is being torn apart.

It’s as though everyone is angry, letting hate flow like liquids from our hearts.

I don’t believe this craziness is permanent, and we can and will see a better day,

If we let the gap between us narrow inch by inch and change the words we say.

Instead of judgmental discourse with its negative and unproductive feedback,

Let us find words that highlight all of our positives and not just what we lack.

When we fail to acknowledge the good that everyone brings to the table,

People tend to fall through the cracks, and everyone’s lives seem unstable.

But, if we would spend energy ensuring everyone food to eat and a home,

Then, we will have peace on earth this holiday season and for years to come.

This is written for What Do You See #217 from Sadje at Life After 50 for Women. I used the Three Things Challenge #M546 prompts: eat, energy, and liquids. The Fandango One Word Challenge prompt is Permanent. Ragtag Daily Prompt is Feedback. The Daily Spur prompt is Inch.

  1. Only love will save us in this world. Kindness not hatred. Unity not division. We are a human family and we should always lift each other up. Life is too short for hatred, anger and division. My prayer for 2024 and beyond is that we be the positive change we want to see, that we love each other and fill out lives with acts of kindness and respect for each other.
