Shadows on the floor and arches up above.
A place where solitude and peace await.
I move from sun to shadow like a child,
Imagining the drawing of figure eights.
I take my time reaching the magic door,
Contemplating many moments all alone.
I’ve waited a whole year to return here,
Away from the workplace and on my own.
It doesn’t take an expert to see its beauty.
It’s such a photogenic place to come and rest.
It’s where I can resort to finding myself,
And return to work able to give my very best.

I’d love a place like this one near me. That bench at the end would be a fine place to sit and write.

What a lovely and thoughtful comment. It made me feel valued. We all need to be told that what we say mattered to someone. Thank you so much for doing so for me.

A beautiful poem Regina. To find peace and to restore our mental and physical health, nothing like a pop lace of quietude. Thanks for joining in.
