Still Fighting the Good Fight with My Tummy, but at least School’s Out.

My husband and I will travel to California soon to witness his youngest child’s graduation from Berkeley in Engineering. We have not seen this child since 2021 when we saw this child in Barbados. So, to have the chance to spend time together is almost more exciting than the accomplishment. Thankfully, the semester is over for me also, and I am scheduled to graduate in December 2024. I am so ready. I really have enjoyed writing papers and learning so much about religion.

I am still wrestling with digestive issues that have made me lose nearly two months of attending church, but I believe my husband and I have narrowed down what needs to change in my diet, so a nearly six-hour flight should be fine. I find it amazing the way the body changes as we age, and the foods we used to eat with impunity now cause us pain and discomfort. But it’s just good to be alive and well and able to live life joyously most days.

I plan to write more blogs and be active again as a writer, with less to read. It’s why I love the summer months. I may have to take a class in the summer, but it will be online, so I can travel and attend class anywhere I am in the world. I have tried to comment on other blogs because I am encouraged and entertained by so many great bloggers, with over 200 blogs I follow. Yeah, I need to cull that number a lot!

So, we endure so many experiences in this life, but over the last few months of battling my tummy issues, I have learned to be still and know that God is still God. I have done well in both my classes, earning an A and an A+, so I was not defeated. I look forward to writing some encouraging blogs on both of my sites now that I can exhale.

I retired again for the umpteenth time because AI makes it harder to know when students are doing their own work. We were told to create AI statements, and I forbade use with the threat of a zero. Then, we were advised to find ways to incorporate AI into our courses, and that was a deal-breaker for me. But I am only seventy-something, so I will find other ways to make a difference and to encourage, inspire, and touch people’s lives.
