Personal Walls Built on Constantly Surveilling the World Are Unhealthy to All

We’ve put up personal walls in our lives

With the smartphones that are in our hands.

No one can pierce through to our attention,

Because of our phone’s constant viewing demands.

All day we digest stuff that can hurt our souls,

As people scoff and mock others on social media.

But our phones are all smocked out in lovely cases,

As we witness the world get greedier and seedier.

Let’s put down our phones and look at each other.

Smile and recognize each other’s humanity and worth.

Stop and have long conversations digitally free,

Not constantly fretting about what happening on the earth.

  1. Beautifully written Regina. You are very right that we have enslaved ourselves to these ‘cell’ phones and have stopped paying attention to people around us. Thanks for joining in and for this important reminder.
