Enjoy Life Gifts and Be Joyful: What Do You See?

During a conference call to discuss the ins and outs of a business model, Janet decided she needed a break from the daily grind of listening to a cast of people drone on about nothing. She excused herself, explaining that she needed to take care of an urgent matter. Her boss told her to take the rest of the morning off and join in the afternoon meetings.

Janet walked outside, racking her brain for what she could do to find peace and joy before returning to work. She could rake the leaves that had fallen below the pear tree. But instead, she grabbed a basin to collect the pears which looked so juicy and sweet as they dangled on the tree. She would give them a bath in cold water, and then enjoy one or two.

After that first wondrous taste of the nectar that only nature can produce, Janet decided to block out all thoughts of work. She grabbed a book from her growing stash, took a bench to hold her harvest of pears, and, lazily enjoyed life’s bountiful gifts, cutting into one pear after another. She relished the solitude and tranquility of resting your body, mind, and soul with nature’s wonders.

  1. I’m relaxing there with her Regina. Thanks for using the 3TC today. My parents had two pear trees, 2 apple trees and 2 plum trees in their garden. Then he took to growing gooseberries, blackcurrants, redcurrants, and loganberries. In his next garden, he had a grape vine and made a frame to grow melons. It was no wonder Dad took to making wine and Mum had to verbally fight him for the fruit for her pies!!

    1. I loved as a child going blackberry picking with my sister and an older cousin, all girls. It was the 1960s and parents weren’t afraid for girls to travel far afield. My aunt made jellies and amazing blackberry pies. So, I can imagine your mother wanting her share of the berries.
