Cultivate A Love of Learning in Children’s Hearts

For me to open a book is the greatest thrill.

The wonders of knowledge not yet known

Sends chills of joy right down into my soul,

And away from my everyday life, I am gone.

A book is my guide to the world beyond.

To read of places that I may one day see

Makes me hopeful that what I endure

Is not the whole picture of what I can be.

So, I never tire of opening books in school,

Feeling so fortunate to have the chance to learn

Of the many places across the oceans and lands

That I wish to see and for which my soul yearns.

  1. This a very beautiful and inspiring poem Regina. With your own desire for learning, I’m sure you infuse your students with the same enthusiasm. Thank you so much for joining in.
