Carolina looked down at the scale, and she wondered if it was still operational. Surely, she did not weigh that much! She was barely eating. She had been diligent in attending meetings for the weight-loss company that she joined, ingesting only what she was told was good for her. Yes, sometimes she ate enough of her favorite foods, such as pie and chips, that she thought she might injure herself. But she would repent and change her eating habits after spending time in an indigo funk and being ashamed of herself.
Those slip-ups happened so often that she finally quit paying the monthly fee to just to keep up with how much she ate. She kept her points counter as a memorial to her constant dieting. But, she realized that if she were to experience a quality of life in later life, she had to find an answer to the weight issue. She thought, “If only I could get paid to lose weight?”
Carolina had always been the best worker on any job. She believed in “eight hours work for eight hours pay.” So, any time she received compensation, she worked hard to complete the assignments better than anyone else. She relished being the Employee of the Month. She loved the special parking space assigned to the Most Valuable Employee! She showed everyone the letters of commendation she received from clients. She was at her best when someone paid her to do her work.
If only she could find a company willing to pay her to lose weight!

I’d sign up, knowing all too well how soul destroying it is to follow the rules and lose NOTHING! Thanks for incorporating the 3TC in your story Regina.

If such a company existed, weight loss would be very common

“Healthy wage & diet” bet does exactly that…pays you real money to lose weight. One of my cousins won on healthy wage.
