Revelation 3:12 All who are victorious will become pillars in the Temple of my God, and they will never have to leave it. And I will write on them the name of my God, and they will be citizens in the city of my God—the new Jerusalem that comes down from heaven from my God. And I will also write on them my new name.
The pillars of the Lord’s Temple were strong and held up the Temple through trials and storms. It seems that pillars don’t do anything, but without them, the edifice would fall and be destroyed. With them, the building is secure; it won’t be moved. They are built to not be easily brought down.
As parents, friends, mentors, and teachers, we can be a pillar for those who are vulnerable and fragile, easily physically, emotionally, or mentally to be destroyed by the careless words and deeds of others. We stand with them and allow them to trust that we will be there when needed, giving them strength by our very presence. Utilizing the strength and unfailing love that the Lord gives to us, we will hold up others and keep them able to stand when everything around them seems to be falling down. Then, we can all be victorious.
Amen.
