Five More Weeks to Freedom, or I Would Rather Be Writing a Blog

I have a 6-8 page critical essay due tomorrow by 11:00 pm, and I am writing a blog, to my utter shame. I miss writing my blog and receiving comments from my brothers and sisters in the blogging community. I realize most people say friends, but one of the blogs I follow, Jesusluvall, calls me “little sister,” which I love. I have just five more weeks, and then I can blog to my heart’s content, with no essays and papers due. I will miss it because I believe life-long study keeps the mind active and strong.

I plan to blog more, although on one blog, not the two I have. I can’t afford both with the cost of the domains and the sites, as I am someone on limited income. I think one blog can handle all we want to say to different types of readers. Similar to the blog Mindlovesmisery Menagerie.

I plan to take Bible study classes from Gateway Plus to sharpen my theology as a Sunday School teacher who writes my own handouts for students. I read commentaries and ask for discernment and wisdom from the Holy Spirit to try and get it right. My students are seasoned saints and know as much as I do about the Bible, but reminders are so important at this late stage of our lives. We suffer so many illnesses and are at the age when spouses and friends are dying, so we need to remember the power of the Lord’s love every day.

We will travel in May and June to Vienna and Budapest for a week in each place and then to see our beloved children and grandchildren for two weeks and three weekends in Portugal. We also hope to travel more in America, maybe renting an RV to see the parts of the country we have missed, like Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and New York. Then another year, maybe Colorado, Oregon, and Washington. It’s exciting to dream.

Whatever I do, I will keep learning and stretching my imagination to keep the “little grey cells” healthy. I learn so much from all of the blogs I follow, and I look forward to reading them and savoring the knowledge you all give to the world. Just five more weeks, 9 more classes in each course, and then sweet freedom! I will admit that I am contemplating seminary, but that might just be a dream!
