Traveling the World through Bingeing Murder Mysteries: My Evening Delight

I discovered a whole streaming channel, MHz Choice, on my Roku Television. It has mysteries and other shows that are filmed around the world. I have been binging Captain Malveaux, a quirky lady who solves murder mysteries all over France. I like the title character and the complexity of the mysteries. But the best part of watching these shows is that I get to travel vicariously through them to all the places in France. What a beautiful land, from mountaintop villages to the various coasts, the scenery is gorgeous. I love seeing the view as much as how the murder mysteries are solved.

Another reason I love this channel is that I can’t multitask while watching the shows because I can’t speak the language, which means I must read the subtitles to know what is happening. This keeps me focused on one thing at a time. When I watch shows with English speakers, I try to do things like watch television, read a book, or dust and clean.

The MHz channel also has other shows I like from Italy (Don Matteo) and Vienna (Inspector Rex). I am traveling all over Europe, one show at a time. I love having the opportunity to see the good guys win in many languages. I get to sit in my living room and travel, without the stress and costs of traveling to these places. Although I will admit there are a couple of places I want to visit and experience in real life.
