I am rooted in this place of pain,
My footsteps have walked here before.
Some days stir on an endless loop,
An echo of hours hearing the same old score.
Time slips away, as this old body creaks.
Through the years, clocks don’t remain on hold.
I look back on the young days free of pain,
Not knowing they were more precious than gold.
But, even with the aches that often steal my joy,
Iām grateful for each day that I can still move.
Realizing that pain is part of this tedious journey,
I try to live a joyous life that the Lord would approve. Ā
