Finding Peace in a World Come Undone: What Do You See?

I know there must be a place where peace abounds,

Away from this planet with its hateful sights and sounds.

I look up into the sky, and wonder what it’s like above,

Is there at least one galaxy where there is nothing but love?

Is the answer to be found by isolating oneself from the news

On a mountaintop where all one encounters are wonderful views?

Or is it where one never sees anyone else and lives in the world alone,

With no means of communication, no laptop, no radio, no phone?

Peace seems in short supply, as the world seems to be coming undone,

But maybe the answer lies in each of us if we could connect as one.

Peace flowing like rivers in our souls, if we look for a path beyond the greed

That leads to wars and nationalist ideas on which hate and prejudice feed.
