Living to The Fullest Towards the End of This Journey

I looked at the older woman in the mirror,

Wondering where the years have gone.

In my seventies now, and still moving forward,

Much closer than ever to the dawn.

I ponder what lies beyond this world,

As I approach the tip of the dark spaces.

I struggle to do all and see all I desire,

To visit many unknown and sundry places.

But when I look into the sky above me,

And I experience the cheerfulness of the stars,

I think Heaven must be the ultimate destination,

A place for healing from this life’s woes and scars.

So, even though I walk slower and get tired faster,

I will keep living my life until the bittersweet end.

Yes, I know that the dawn will come for me also,

But I will live my life as full as possible until then.

    1. Great photos every week. I find it ironic that I have time while traveling to join in. Traveling is wonderful but going to different cities on buses and trains is tiring. So, we will be taking some off days. I used to think that we failed to get our money’s worth if we didn’t see it all. I have changed that thought as I get older. I enjoy what I see and know the world will not end if I miss something.
