One life hack that helps me when I travel is making a list and checking it multiple times. It is the most efficient way to avoid forgetting what I need for the trip, particularly when we travel to Europe, where I might have trouble replacing an item. I write lists of the clothes I need and what I will wear each day, so I do not take more clothes than I need. In this way, I don’t need a big suitcase that must be checked. What a great discovery! I write a list of our passwords and medications. We write a list of the electronics needed.
Also, I make a Christmas list of everyone I don’t want to forget to buy gifts for or send money to. My husband and I have a blended family consisting of eight children, eighteen grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren. How else could I remember them all and their ages? I see why Santa Claus needed lists, for no one could remember all of the billions of children he and Mrs. Claus must prepare to satisfy.
One other life hack I swear by is using the pill boxes that separate by days of the week. It allows me to know whether I have taken my two medications that day. There is nothing more frustrating than not remembering if you took a medication and deciding to skip it because you don’t want a double dose. Being able to see that I have not missed a dose is so comforting, and it only takes a few moments of my time to fill them each week.
So, lists are very good life hacks. They can save us time and worry. They can keep us from being frustrated and forgetful, and they keep us on task. I really need to use a list to know what I want to blog about each day or week, but I haven’t quite gotten that conscientious.
