Walking is the simplest exercise. It doesn’t require an expensive piece of equipment. I found that walking through my home with five-pound weights is effective, if I cannot go to the gym. Other exercises that I have learned from Cardiac Rehab at the local hospital are movements with resistance bands. You use your own weight and workout according to your abilities.
Not everyone needs or can afford a home gym. Weights and resistance bands are a cheap means of getting a workout without leaving home. For anyone with an AARP membership or OnePass from Medicare, there are programs that let you attend virtual classes on walking off weight and resistance training. The goal is to help seniors build flexibility and balance.

Regina, it sounds like you are getting quite a workout. Two five pound weights is much to carry, even at hoke. Resistance banks are something that will tone you. Keep up the good work! Way to go!
