The Healing Power of Nature

Oakland, Oregon, September 2026

A gentle breeze swept down from the mountain,

And I felt the mercy of God touch my aching soul.

I uncoupled the depression that darkened my path,

Feeling once more I had been made whole.

Just a mug of peppermint tea and a splash of color

Were enough to make me feel like a bird soaring free.

Oh, nature, you inspire me to believe all is possible,

For resting in your bosom brings me serenity.

Written for the Three Things Challenge #MM566 from Pensitivity 101: mercy, mug, mountain. Fandango One Word Challenge prompt is Uncouple. The Stream of Consciousness Saturday prompt is Breeze. The Ragtag Daily Prompt is Splash.

    1. Thank you. My husband and I spent three days with his sister and her husband helping with the grape harvest. Just sitting in their yard which is on the top of a hill that looks down on nearly the whole little town, I felt so free and happy. It’s amazing how being in nature just clears your head and heart.
