Tired of the ruses that deceive the masses,
Lady Liberty lays down her light with regret.
She bemoans that the rights of the people
Have become like a game of Russian roulette.
She’s rusty from the years she has stood watch,
Declaring from her stand that all people are equal.
She needs a rest from the hate and the divisions
That for the Constitution have become quite lethal.
But she will rise and take up her light again,
A lamp to the tired, poor, and huddled masses.
For this nation will once again live up to its creeds,
Like the courageous Phoenix rising from the ashes.
