I saw this window with an unexpected statue of what I think is a saint that watches over the ships and boats in Quarteria, Portugal. It was at the end of a long pier at the harbor. We were there to watch fishing boats come and go. I guess when you spend a lot of time on water, you need to believe that someone is watching over you and protecting you, increasing the odds that you return to port safely. The beauty of the city and water behind her was wonderful to see.
