I watched as my cousin, Rory, stepped next to the preacher, ready to entrust his heart to Lila, a strange girl, by my standards, but just right for him. A herpetologist, Rory had found it difficult to retain women’s interest when they learned that he studied reptiles.
Then on an internet dating sight, he opened the profile of Lila, and when he saw her posed with a pet iguana named Herman, he thought that he might have just found the love of his life. After instant messaging for a few weeks, they agreed to meet at the herpetarium at the local zoo.
Their shared love of all things reptilian sealed the deal. Today, quite reluctantly, we are here in the same herpetarium to witness their vows. A folder with instructions on what to do if Herman bites you are sitting next to the Guest Book, just in case!
Fictional story for The Three Things Challenge #PL4, hosted by Light Motifs: iguana, cousin, and folder.
