Knowing a Conman When You See One: Weekly Writing Prompt

She watched him approach her, knowing that he was a charlatan. He said, “I found this envelope full of money, with no name on it. But, it’s late, so I need to put it in someone’s bank account. I will give you some of it!”

She responded, “You picked the wrong one, Brother. I only have enough for the bus home!”

True story written for The Weekly Writing Prompt from Sammiscribbles: write a story or poem on Charlatan in exactly 61 words. What was amazing was later that night, I visited a friend who had given birth, and the same guy was there with her boyfriend. He was so embarrassed, but I didn’t give away his secret.
