On the Cusp of Old Age: Weekend Writing Prompt

I continue to work and produce.

Don’t have time for a rocking chair.

I’m at that liminal stage of aging,

Still up for a challenge or a dare.

My hair is gray, and things

Hurt that I didn’t know that I had.

I don’t move as fast as I use to,

But, overall, things aren’t so bad.

Written for Weekend Writing Prompt from Sammiscribbles. The prompt for today is write a poem or prose using exactly 57 words on Liminal.

  1. LOVE this so much!! I can relate to the aches and pains of aging, and I’m thrilled that God dared me to say YES to NaNoWriMo’s challenge. Writing a novel, even the first draft, by the end of November is exciting. I don’t know if you’re familiar with Tyler Perry’s book, Higher Is Waiting–but through it, and the times I’ve heard him speak on TBN, he encouraged me to not give up my writing dream. 67 is Not Too Old 🙂 God bless you richly, Regina ❤
