June didn’t care if the car wasn’t able
To be conspicous with all of those labels.
She strapped her things on with a cable,
Hoping with prayers that all would remain stable
Until she made it home to sit at her mother’s table
And hear her dying mother relate one last fable.
Mother spoke of a love between Mike and Mabel
That ended when he foolishly bought fur of sable
For another woman, thinking her love he could enable,
But regrets it now, for Mabel left him permanently disabled.
