The experiences of my life are etched in my face.
A line is there for every triumph, defeat, and gain.
The stories that I share with my grandchildren
Are meant to save them from much suffering and pain.
No lotions or creams will I use to try to hide my life,
For every wrinkle is proof that I never shirked my duty.
I ‘m not embarassed by the hard work I’ve completed,
Instead, I revel in my soul’s contentment and its beauty.
Written for What Do You See? Photo Challenge # 52 from Keep It Alive. My first thought was, “How beautiful!”
It feels like the true story of the woman in this picture. Thanks Regina for joining in the challenge.

I thought the same thing – she looks like she has a good heart and has worked hard and been kind. There is something incredibly endearing and appealing in her face.
