No Bourbon for Me: Sunday Writing Prompt

I learned early in life that alcohol isn’t good for coping.

It simply leads to further problems and lots of mistakes.

Instead, I grab a cup of tea and a good murder mystery,

To soothe my nerves and give my restless soul a break.

I sit still and look at the problems from every conceivable angle,

Seeking spiritual guidance more than any secular wisdom.

Then I find that no matter whatever trials may come my way,

I can cope with them, without putting myself in alcohol’s prison.

Written for the Sunday Writing Prompt from Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie. The prompt is a post on coping.
