Calla’s latest obsession was trying to catch the eye of Jacob, her brother Seth’s best friend. In her jealousy of his beautiful girlfriend, Glennie, she felt obliged to inform Jacob of a secret she was hipped to regarding Glennie and her boss. After her brother’s contestation of her narrow-minded actions, Calla made no apologia. When he told her that trying to break up two people who love each other was unconscionable, Calla nonchalantly kept biting into her sandwich, licked the mayonnaise from her lips, and said, “All is fair in love and passion!”
