QUESTIONS:
What should you get rid off, that would make your new year better, and why? (Don’t say Covid-19, we all want to get rid of the dang virus)
We still have the pillows from the outdoor furniture we had at our last house, even though we gave the furniture away. I have no idea why we keep it, but neither of us seem to have the courage to throw them away. I reason that we might move again and get new outdoor furniture and we will wish we kept them. I know I;m being delusional, but it’s okay!
What’s the most daring thing you’ve ever done?
I traveled to Madrid, Spain for six days and to Geneva, Switzerland for eight days alone. Tours focused on shopping, with more time spent buying than spent in museums and other attractions. So, I checked to see how safe these two places were, and when I couldn’t find anyone willing to travel with me, I just wasn’t willing to miss out on seeing them, so I went solo. It was wonderful! I stayed in museums for hours in Madrid, and in Switzerland I took a day trip to the top of the French Alps at Chamonix. I had a scary experience in Madrid, but I also learned from it that God was truly with me “wherever I go.”
Does your family have a “motto” – spoken or unspoken?
It is mostly spoken. I remind my children about Proverbs 27: 2, “Let someone else praise you, not your own mouth— a stranger, not your own lips.” I always told them, and I pay attention to it, too, that no one likes a boastful person. From this motto, I also tell them to do a job so well that people will celebrate with sadness their leaving, rather than with joy that they are gone!
On a scale of 1-10 how funny would you say you are? (this does not mean ‘smell’ or looks; because this is a judgment free blog!)
I have been told that I have a great sense of humor, and I like making people laugh, so maybe an 8, not quite a queen of comedy!
GRATITUDE SECTION
Tell everyone something that you found personally lifted your spirits!
I am thankful for music, anything with a beat will do, but I love country music, the old kind, like Dolly and Loretta, gospel music, and jazz! Music lifts my spirits and makes me dance. It brings light into my dark days!
Written for Share My World from Sparks from a Combustible Mind for January 11, 2021.
I resonate so much with your family’s motto and you love for music. Nice read Ms. Regina!
