Answering My Call with a New Blog

I started this blog to teach and inspire through stories, both personal and from the Bible. But when I saw that I could get more likes and views with other types of writings, something I craved, I stopped meeting the goals of the blog site. So, because I feel a need to be true to my calling to teach, I started a new blog site, and I will continue to write poems, short stories, and inspiring content on here from my beloved daily prompts and other inspirations and challenges, as I see that as a kind of ministry, too.

The new blog is called Huldah’s Sisters. The name is inspired by the story of the prophetess Huldah found in 2 Kings 22:13-20 and 2 Chronicles 34:22-28. You can read about her in the About My Beliefs post. This has been part of the struggle to write recently, as well as attending college again. I felt that I was not being true to my faith, even though I know that salvation is not through works and that we can’t earn Heaven. But, it is true that the desire to teach the Word of God when you feel called to do so is like a “consuming fire” (Hebrews 12:29), or as the old folks used to say in my church, like fire shut up in your bones. You just can’t seem to let it go, even as you seek to fit in and be “liked.”

So, now I have two blogs, and so double the reading and writing, but I feel at peace, because I believe I am “being about my Father’s business” (Luke 2:49). Two blogs means that my content won’t be so all over the place here, as I try to meet both sacred and secular writing. So, I hope you will visit the new blog and find something there that will bring a smile to your face, peace to your heart, and the calm assurance that the Lord God Almighty is with you every step of the journey. Isaiah 43:19 states, “See, I am doing a new thing!” To God be the glory!

      1. Something must be wrong at wordpress. When I click on that link, it just takes me to my own home site. They should make some things clearer and easier to make visible.
